Visit The Golfing Capital Of Canada

Published by Adriana Noton under Golf

Set between the Purcell Mountains and the Rockies, the town of Kimberley boasts stunning views and attracts tourists from around the world. Visit the golfing capital of Canada and you might find not just eighteen holes, but even to a real estate agent. If not, just be happy with improving your game.

Golf courses here include Bootleg Gap. This twenty-seven hole course hires out pull carts and clubs if you travelled light. Look for junior rates and play a round with your teenager, or just use the driving range for some practice. Kimberley Golf Club dates back to the early twentieth century and continues to thrive among the competition. Find yourself some gear in the pro shop then stop for a meal after your game.

Shadow Mountain is the newest golf course in Kimberley. Enjoy eighteen holes or nine, with short breaks in between each hole to simply admire snow-capped mountains and lush green mountain forests. The gift shop sells clothing for men and women plus accessories and souvenirs. Arrange for group or private lessons with a certified instructor. Golfing classes have been broken down according to age, with some also set aside for ladies only. Even send the kids to golf camp so they can develop a passion for this popular activity.

With a visit to St. Eugene Mission comes the opportunity to play golf by day and hit the casino at night. Instead of worrying about how to get back to your hotel room after a few drinks and some slots, stay right at St. Eugene. Arrive with a group and split up, some heading for tee time, others to a local spa. Eat out in style or opt for a casual barbecued steak at the on-site restaurant.

Golfing packages make it easy to spend the weekend golfing and hanging out. Stay in a chalet, condo or guest house. Bring a big group of eight to twelve people and split the cost, saving money to enjoy what you came for: eighteen holes. Some rentals include barbecues, hot tubs or even a fireplace.

Trickle Creek Golf Resort offers stay and play packages including a round on their green plus a room a the Lodge. Eat at the lodge restaurant then walk to golfing just minutes away. Come back to soak in a hot tub, swim a few lengths in their heated outdoor pool or burn calories in the fitness room.

Trickle Creek also sets families down right by ski hills, which could get them thinking. What about moving here? Perhaps compromise, laying down just holiday roots. Purchase property in the area for those gaps in a busy calendar that let you get away to golf or ski, alone, with friends or with family.

Should such a plan become viable, remember this is a high end location. BC Real estate can be scarce and expensive in Kimberley, but conveniently close to a local airport for commuting to and from Calgary and other cities. Purchase yourself a fabulous view and plant yourself close to places like Wasa Lake, Radium Hot Springs, and the Canadian Rockies.

It’s not surprising that BC is considered Canada’s golf capital. BC golf vacations are attracting golfers from all over the world, With the beautiful mountains and picturesque natural scenery, take time to enjoy the magnificent BC real estate.

Activity Holiday Escapes Result In Fantastic New Adventures For Every Member Of Your Family

For some individuals, a great vacation includes enjoying a beach or a cabin in the woods. They dream of being waited on hand and foot and having nothing to worry about. For some, a great vacation includes adventure!

These are people who like to stay active. They enjoy mingling with fellow travelers. Is this is bio of you? Are you tackling a decision of what kind of adventure travels you want to try on your next vacation? Deciding on an ideal adventure trip can be wearisome. Ample adventuresome opportunities abounds! Here are some of our best-loved adventure vacations.

If you enjoy being outside and using your survival skills to live off the land, why not try an Australian Walkabout? These have become noteworthy adventures, especially after one of the main actors on the television show “Lost” tried to go on one. The original thought for an Australian Walkabout was for you and your fellow adventurers to get out into the Australian Outback on a guided tour. When you get out on a walkabout, you are only living off the land. You gather your own food, construct your own shelter from the available materials and take on any “elements” that might come your way (weather, wild animals, etc). It is kind of like extreme camping and can be incredibly fulfilling.

If you’re an enthusiast of extreme adventure travels, why not try out a hot air balloon trip someplace? Have you thought about a white water rafting adventure? Have you thought about trying Bungee jumping? Some people are thrilled about skydiving. Definitely there are places to do this in many towns. With an extreme adventure vacation, it is possible to go skydiving over the Grand Canyon. Partake on a hot air balloon adventure over the Australian outback. The world is a giant playground when you become an extreme adventurer. A trendy extreme vacation is paragliding in India. Why not give it a try?

Do you love the idea of seeing big game right up close? Have you always wanted to see exotic animals in their natural habitats? Why not take an African Safari. There are groups that tour every bit of the African continent. Pick on of the many trusted companies and let them show you hippos, elephants and giraffes in their homelands. View prides of lions and packs of hyenas. You can see birds you have only watched in a zoo. If you enjoy animals, a Safari should be your top choice for an adventure travel.

There are a variety of ways “adventure travels” can be defined. For some it involves death-defying activities such as scaling the world’s tallest mountains or putting oneself into an extreme climate condition. For some it includes some type of challenge they are not accustomed to, such as driving cattle, hiking on other terrain, etc. Still for others, adventure travels involve learning new things while maintaining a fairly easy pace.

And how about a family vacation? Instead of packing the kids off for summer camp, why not pitch a tent right next to them. There are so many activities besides the classic marshmallow roast and ghost-story-telling. Stay busy by fishing and hiking or play team sports like badminton or volleyball. Even better, sit in the sun with a book and eat a popsicle.

The key to having a real adventurous vacation is to get out of your comfort zone while still having an enjoyable time. Get out and do it!

An expensive holiday escape isn’t really a dream in the event you make additional revenue because of the internet business ideas pointed out in our business ezine.

Double Sleeping Bag: Advantages Of Getting It

Published by Roberto Pai under Outdoor Sporting

If you are you planning a trekking or camping trip then surely you will require a sleeping bag. If you are going alone with your friend then a single sleeping bag is perfect for you. Actually, most of you would think that a single sleeping bag is enough for a single person, and why would you need a double sleeping bag. Well, you would need a double bag if you are going for the trek with your partner. They are perfect for those people who wish to travel with their spouse or partner.

Quite a few numbers of people are opting for double sleeping bags these days. So now let us find out some of the basic reasons for which people are shifting to double bags instead of single sleeping bags.

The best part of double bags is that here two people can sleep and rest together. So, here two different sleeping bags can create a bit of a problem, as they will take up more space. But, in case of double bags you can share the bag with your partner and both of you can sleep together. This would also consume less space.

The most unique feature of a double sleeping bag is that here without disturbing your partner, you can easily come out of the bag. So, while you and your partner sleep together, one of you can easily get up and move out of the sleeping bag without disturbing the other.

Also, carrying 2 single sleeping bags can put a lot of pressure on you. So, you can do away with an “extra” luggage if you carry a double bag instead and it will be easier to carry around. So instead of carrying 2 heavy sleeping bags, the best option would be to carry one double bag.

The best thing about double bags is that it is much more affordable than two different single sleeping bags. So, if you want to cut down on your cost then opt for one double sleeping bag instead of two.

Roberto Pai is a well known teacher for safety in camping, a information packed course which runs all across the world. He has a strong interest in camping and equipment it requires. The most fundamental Equipment is a double sleeping Bag shop, , and he personally recommends a Outwell Contour Double Sleeping Bag.

Places To Visit On Bodrum Holidays

Published by Colin Woods under Water Sports

Archaeological evidence in the site where the very attractive Castle of St Peter now stands allows us to officially date building in Bodrum back to 1100 BC, giving it the status of a truly ancient town. Since those days of antiquity Bodrum has developed both culturally and in size, its history dotted with many fascinating gems such as how it flourished during the time of the Ottoman Empire under the reign of Suleyman the Magnificent. The waterfront is exceptional, with striking views of the medieval castle, and numerous wooden sailing boats gulets at anchor. Evenings are particularly special, with the Castle of St Peter illuminated, and frenetic activity on the quayside with guests dining on the gulets and stores being delivered. While over in the city centre, you’ll find the Tomb of King Mausolus, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, along with Bodrum Castle, a fine example of architecture from the period of the Crusades.

The Museum of Underwater Archaeology is housed with the Castle of St Peter and has many unique exhibits. The Castle itself was founded by the Knights of the Crusades and with work began in the 1400s using materials from the tomb of King Mausolus, it took more than 100 years to complete. The Castle should definitely be on your list of places to visit along with the fabulous Museum of Underwater Archaeology.

Caria was ruled over by King Mausolus between 377 to 353 BC on behalf of the Persians although in practical terms it was largely independent. On his death in 353 BC, his Queen, Artemisia II of Caria, who also happened to be his sister, was devastated and tasked Greek architects Satyros and Pythis along four sculptors Bryaxis, Scopas, Leochares and Timotheus to build a tomb, for him that would also be a monument. The is became of the Seven Wonders of the World and lead to the adoption of the word Mausoleum.

Just outside Bodrum and cut into the hillside overlooking the city, you’ll find the Bodrum amphitheatre which has architecture that combines from both the Mausulos era and later additions from the Romans. It dates back to the Hellenistic era of 330 – 30 BC and was built during the reign of Mausulos and is one of the oldest in Asia Minor. Like many other ancient theatres of the time it is made of three main components; the Skene (stage), the Orchestra (half-oval part) and the Cavea audience seating. Seats have carved inscriptions of the wealthy that helped to fund the building of the theatre. Even today the amphitheatre is still in active use during the high season and plays host to dramatic open air concerts and shows. If you’re lucky to be there when a show is on it’s not to be missed.

Another of the great Seven Wonders of the World was the Temple of Artemis which was to found in the city of Ephesus which was one of the great cities of the Greeks. Today, Ephesus is one of the major tourist attractions not only in the region but in the whole of Turkey. With several biblical figures, including St. Paul, St. John the Evangelist and the Virgin Mary associated with Ephesus it is also a sacred place for many Christians.

Not far from Bodrum about 30 minutes west is the village of Turgutreis. It’s a pleasant get away from the busier atmosphere of Bodrum and is still close enough if you fancy a bit of a day or evening out. With its new gorgeous marina and surrounding shopping centre it still manages to maintain that village feel. There is also excellent shopping between Bodrum and Turgutreis with the Oasis shopping mall plus some fabulous electrical, hardware and furniture shops.

Everyone will find something in Bitez. Whether its relaxing on the beach or trying the excellent water sports, this picturesque resort is ideal. It is only a few kilometres from Bodrum and its idyllic bay location attracts quite an upmarket clientle. Playing host to a first class sailing and windsurfing school, the sheltered cove and shallow water are perfect for beginners and the bay is surrounded by beautiful whitewashed buildings and picturesque wooden jetties. The pleasant cooling breeze is one of the things that makes Bitez the windsurfing capital of turkey and the breeze is a welcome aspect in the hot months of July and August.

To find the ideal place to stay for your Bodrum Holidays then you need look no further than our beautiful apartment. Turkey Holidays overlooking the stunning Lake Tuzla.

Golf Holidays – Things To Prepare Before Departure

Published by Louise J. Brooks under Golf

For the golfer going on holidays, there are a couple of items they should check before setting off to make sure they get to enjoy as much golfing as possible while on holiday. The following checklist covers some of the essentials.

Medication & First Aid: A simplified first-aid kit should be prepared for packing. If you intend golfing each day then any minor injuries can really take their toll over your holiday so prepare to bring aspirin, plasters, insect repellent, indigestion tablets, diarrhoea medicine, sunscreen, contact lenses (and spare ones), spectacles and travel sickness medicine.

Most of these could be picked up on arrival but doing that would eat into your holiday time. A worthy addition is heat packs and cold packs as the muscle strain involved in golfing daily may prove more than your body can take.

Bookings: Email or phone the courses you intend playing to confirm your tee-time is booked. Make a note of any booking references you may need along with tee-times and a map/directions to the course (especially if you are renting a car).

Clothing and Shoes: Have a look at the golf course’s websites and confirm if there are dress codes. Most holiday resorts are quite flexible on this matter but if you are playing championship courses then there could be specific dress codes (for on-course and/or in the clubhouse). Aim to bring several layers of clothing with you. This means you can easily add/remove layers depending on how cold/hot the destination is. It also means you have plenty of spare clothing if you are rained on.

Pack your rain gear in with your golf bag so that it is always there (don’t leave it in your suitcase). Repair any broken cleats on your shoes. Pack away sunglasses warm woolen hats (if needed) and baseball caps. Make sure all clothing, especially shoes, is clean and free of soil (see below).

Documentation: Check the club websites you are visiting for any dress codes they may have (some of the bigger courses will have codes, especially in the club house). Pack your PGA handicap if you are playing courses with a minimum handicap rule. Prepare any course information regarding tips on how to play the course, out-of-bounds, etc.

Golf Equipment: Check all your clubs are in a fit state and clean clubs and golf bag of any grit. Contaminated soil is a major concern in countries such as Australia and Ireland were farming industry can be decimated by bovine cattle diseases that can be brought into the country by visitors. Golden rule is to clean your shoes & clubs before departure.

Then there is the regular golf paraphernalia to stock up on. Check you have plenty of pencils, tees, golf balls and gloves.

The intention of this checklist is to guarantee you get to spend as much quality time as possible golfing during your vacation. Have a great holiday and don’t forget your umbrella!
