Dirk Nowitzki Girlfriend Was Not All That She Made Herself Out To Be

Published by Jim Mechant under Basketball

There has been a lot of talk about Dirk Nowitzki girlfriend rumors. The truth of the matter is no one knows if anything is true or not about the speculations. Dirk has chosen to keep his mouth closed about his girlfriend drama, but the press has led us to believe different things about this dilemma.

Apparently Dirk Nowitzki whom is a Dallas Mavericks star was actually dating a woman by the name of Cristal Taylor. Taylor is honestly nothing special; she is simply an ordinary woman that has been seen around the star from time to time.

Apparently Nowitzki bought 37 year old Taylor a $250, 000 engagement ring and the two were supposed to wed sometime soon. However, it was not a happy ending for the couple. In fact Dirk Nowitzki girlfriend drama began shortly after the star asked Taylor to marry him.

Dirk\’s friends insisted that before the star commenced in the wedding ceremony that he should get an extensive back ground check on his girlfriend. The background check proved that Taylor had a dark and dreary past.

However, the back ground check was cut short when Taylor was arrested in May for having two outstanding warrants. Dirk was oblivious to the reasons why. And, after she was arrested more secrets began to fall through the cracks. Taylor had actually been married before. Her previous husband was buried in $330, 000 in debt because of Taylor and her spending habits.

Dirk Nowitzki girlfriend Cristal, had also gained access to the stars credit cards as well. She was happily utilizing the cards without the stars permission. Taylor gives a brand new name to the term gold digger when you think about the way that this sheep in wolves clothing would manipulate men to give her everything that she ever wanted.

If it had not been for the police coming when they did, Dirk could have made a horrible mistake that would have ruined him for the rest of his life. Taylor needs to learn something, you can run but the truth will always find you.

NBA Noteworthy Story Lines In This Season

Published by Johnny Reese under Basketball

There have been quite a few ups and downs in the world of basketball this season. This season has been an interesting one with plenty going on in the way of performance and with player news.

In this article, I intend to look at both the good and the bad, the highlights and the low points of the 09 to 10 season.

There is just no predicting what\’s coming up in seasons to come. Just last season two particular teams ranked at the bottom of the league but have proven themselves successful players over the past season.

First is the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team that people believed had a bright future but never thought they would be competitive this quickly. Thanks to superstar Kevin Durant, the team has suddenly morphed from one of the worst in the league to one with a winning record this season.

The Memphis Grizzlies may be an even bigger surprise. While people knew that the Thunder had the potential to be a good team, everyone had written off Memphis entering the season.

This team has now seen some great play on the court due to the team work of Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol, OJ Mayo and Zach Randolph and as a result may even end up making the playoffs.

However, the incident at the Gilbert Arenas really brought down the reputation and image of the league itself with guns being pointed at teammates, the Washington Guard has now been suspended for the rest of the season.

Where there are new players there is a glimpse into the future of basketball and players such as Tyreke Evans and Brandon Jennings who are two top performing rookies are providing us with hope for the future of basketball games, so it\’s not all bad in the world of basketball after all.

The Truth About The Steve Nash Rookie Card

Published by Karl Merigue under Basketball

Weighing under two hundred pounds, at six foot three, steve nash rookie card has become more of a player than in the past. He now has taken a place among other greats, as one of those in the NBA who has made Most Valuable player several times. Only 11 men in the history of the NBA has done this and now he has joined them.

In his first two seasons playing with the Phoenix Suns, things were not the best for him. It was in 1996 that he had arrived from Santa Clara and was met with Jason Kidd on the team, who did quite well at that time. Within this time he averaged less than 10 points a game and three assists.

In 1998, he was traded off to Dallas. While playing in Dallas, his game took a turn to all-star status. In 2004, listed as a free agent, he decided to go back with the Suns. The Suns now, would and could not imagine playing without him.

Steve Nash seemed to find what he needed, when working with the coach Mike D\’Antoni. His game average took a turn for 19 points and 11 assists a game. He improved on his three pointers and layups, as well as getting himself the MVP status for two years in a row.

Additionally, it served to make the Sun\’s one of the top NBA teams. In the first half of 2006-07, his scoring got even better. Despite all of this, his steve nash rookie card remains way undervalued compared to other greats of his time.

It remains a mystery of why his card continues to have a value so low. For now however, you can get a great deal on his card and will continue to be able to until they realize all of the great work that he has done.

Magic Sign NBA Veteran Jason Williams

Published by Ross Everett under Basketball

Veteran point guard Jason Williams is returning to the NBA after a season away from basketball. Williams announced that hes re-entering the league this season, and will do so in an Orlando Magic uniform. Williams is tentatively slated to be the backup for starting playmaker Jameer Nelson.

Williams signed a one year NBA contract to play for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2008, but walked away from it without playing a game. At the time, his wife was facing some complications during her pregnancy with their third child and Williams wanted to be able to spend time with her and his family.

Ultimately, he settled on Orlando due to its proximity to his home in nearby Isleworth, Florida and the role the Magic wanted him to play on a championship contender. Magic General Manager Otis Smith provided these comments on the signing:

\”Jason provides depth and leadership to our backcourt. He is a veteran point guard that knows what it takes to help us reach our ultimate goal.\”

Williams has become more of a consistent player as hes matured, and should provide some valuable depth in the Magic backcourt. When asked to reflect on his NBA and college career\”marked by several suspensions and countless other controversies\”Williams sounded a philosophical tone:

\”Let me tell you this: If I could go all the way back [to the beginning], I wouldn\’t do a damn thing different. I know I messed up here and there along the way, but those things I didn\’t do right helped me become the person I am now.\”

Williams played a crucial backup role during the Miami Heats 2005-2006 NBA championship run, and will be expected to play a similar function as the Magic try to get over the hump and unseat the reigning NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers.

The 5 Greatest Point Guards Of The Past Two Decades

Published by James Badger under Basketball

If you look at most successful basketball teams, there\’s a highly skilled point guard in place running the show on offense. These are the guys who make magic happen on the basketball court.

The ball distributor sets the tone for a team\’s offense and an apt one is likely to lead his team to success. If he\’s a good defender, he\’ll do even more good for his team.

We\’ve been privileged enough to have some of the best point guards in the history of the sport during the last quarter century. I\’d like to give my due to five of them, and I\’ll be ranking them in order. This all comes down to my opinion, and I hope you agree with my rankings here.

Number five on my list goes to Steve Nash. It\’s remarkable to think about the fact that his best basketball has been played after the age of 30. While he\’s now 35, some coaches and analysts think he\’s playing better than he ever has.

At number four, Chris Paul gets a spot on the list here. He\’s only been in the league for five seasons now, but what an impact he\’s made in that span. He\’s yet to win an MVP award, but he\’s due for one when you consider what he does for his team.

Chris Paul fills the stat sheet like no other point guard in basketball. Between his league high assists and steals, his great shooting ability, and his rebounding prowess, Paul is truly one of a kind.

Jason Kidd. The triple double king of our generation and one of the best to ever handle the basketball, Kidd is a modern day Oscar Robertson with his unique ability to pass and rebound from the point guard position.

John Stockton. The all-time assists leader has to be on this list. Wonder why the Jazz made the playoffs for nearly 20 years straight, all the way until Stockton was over 40 years old? It was the combo of this phenom and Karl Malone.

You probably know who number one is, especially since I\’ve mentioned the other four. Magic Johnson is simply the best point guard to ever play the game. His assists per game were higher than anyone on this list, and he\’s the only one here to have won a championship too. Enough said.

Things Are Improving For Knicks Fans

Published by Evan Beach under Basketball

Basketball fans in New York are cautiously optimistic for the first time in what seems like ages. Basketball lovers in the biggest city in the country have been dying to see their beloved Knicks return to a competitive state.

This has clearly been a trying time for anyone who follows the team, and the loyalty of millions of fans has been tested. The good news is the fact that things might finally be on the way back up for this weathered franchise. Halfway into the season, their winning percentage is better than it\’s been in quite some time, despite the fact that they\’re just 17-24.

At this current rate, they\’d win several more games than they did last season. This isn\’t the most telling statistic though.

It\’s true that the Knicks are on pace to finish the season with another losing record based on their performance thus far, but we have to look at a little more to acknowledge the extent of their recent improvement.

First of all, this is a team that went 3-11 to start out the season. Some simple math would indicate that this means the Knicks have been 13-13 ever since their sluggish November start.

Ever since then, they\’ve played basketball with a winning record, something fans haven\’t witnessed in ages.

Between David Lee and Wilson Chandler, the team has two young talents that any team would be happy to have. Lee may even make this year\’s all star team, as he\’s averaging nearly 20 points and 10 rebounds per night.

On top of that, some promising young talent in players like Danilo Gallinari shows that there\’s a bright future in New York when you consider the team\’s current state. The young Italian player has become one of the best long range shooters in the game.

The pot is sweetened with one more pleasant surprise. The contracts of players like Stephon Marbury and other wastes of money will finally expire after the season finishes up. As a result, New York has every intention to sign one of the big names entering the free agent pool this summer. Things are about to improve even more.

The Top Fantasy Basketball Breakout Sensation For This Season

Published by Jason Jordan under Basketball

Every year, a season of basketball goes by and there\’s a player I wish I\’d picked up from the free agent pool earlier in the year. These are players who enter the season with no expectations, and finish them as established fantasy stars.

These are guys you had your eye on at some point in time, and you\’re still kicking yourself over the fact that you missed the chance to draft them.

These players emerge every year. Some of them in recent years have included Monta Ellis, Andris Biedrins, Troy Murphy, and many more. Regardless, all we can do is move forward to try to spot the next sleeper. Who wins the crown this year so far?

Let\’s take a look at the player who I believe has had the biggest impact on teams so far this season.

Kevin Love has simply been phenomenal in Minnesota. No one saw this coming, at least not this quickly and not to such an extent. As the player with the second highest rebounding average in the league, his numbers are exceptional. He\’s also a great scorer and a solid shooter too.

Love has one of the highest free throw percentages for a center in all of basketball, and he\’s shoots some three pointers here and there too.

There are only a few centers in the NBA who shoot three pointers, and their contributions are invaluable to teams. One more great element of Love is the fact that he averages over a steal per game, also a rarity at the position.

While he was drafted by some teams in the very late rounds, he went undrafted by and large. In addition to this, most of those who drafted him decided to drop him when it was revealed that he\’d miss the first month of the season due to injury.

As a result, quite a few lucky GMs around the fantasy world have enjoyed a huge boost from a pleasant surprise.
