If you are an average deer hunter, you have average deer hunting knowledge, put forth average commitment, you will only get average results. It is easy for the average hunter to be able to get a small buck every year or so, but being able to bring home that beautiful trophy buck on a regular basis requires more commitment and more knowledge. In order to help you become a better hunter, I am going to provide you with the advanced deer hunting tips used by deer hunting masters.

1. Scout Out Your Hunting Area – This does not simply mean know where you are going to sit while you are hunting. It means to go out and truly get to know your hunting location. The most successful hunters actually start hunting months prior to the first day of the hunting season.

Get permission to be on the lease you intend on hunting and scout out all the potential hunting spots. You can investigate all the potential hunting areas by “dry hunting.” This is similar to actual hunting, only you bring a camera instead of a gun. You will focus your attention on determining which areas have the most deer movement, the largest bucks, and the highest buck to doe ratio. It is advisable to scout the lease during midday as well in order to find any signs of big bucks.

2. Recognizing The Signs Of Big Bucks – By knowing what signs to look for, you will be better prepared to find the area where the trophy bucks are located. One thing you want to look for are tracks. You want to look at how big the tracks are, how many tracks there are, and in which direction the tracks are going. This will allow you to understand how big the deer are in a given area, how many there are, and what there movement patterns are.

Look for Scrapes. These are the areas where bucks scratch against the ground and urinate to mark their territory and attract does. Usually scrapes are beneath low-hanging tree branches along the edges of heavy brush. Look for Rubs. These are the spots on trees or posts where bucks rub the velvet off their budding antlers, of where they mark their territory in rutting season. If you see six or more rubs in 100 yards, that’s called a “rub line.” You’ll usually find rubs beside a tree on the side that the buck’s traveling from, so you can get an idea of where the deer is moving and mark it down, making it easier to find them.

You should also look for bedding areas and make a note of their size. If you don’t see any bedding, there aren’t any bucks!

3. Know Your Firearm and Ammo – You need to know the ballistics of the bullet and cartridge you shoot. You also need to know how your gun reacts to the distance you are shooting. You need to know how far your shot raises for short shots and how far it falls for longer shots. You should practice judging how far your shots are and maybe even walk off the distances to possible sighting areas. This will allow you to know if you are making a 400 yard shot and also know how much your bullet is likely to drop making this shot. Doing this will enable you to be able to adjust your aim to make a quality shot.

4. Shot Placement; If you master the aim and ballistics of your deer hunting rile, you will be more comfortable with precision shot placement.

I am a “neck shooter,” which means I believe a shot well-placed anywhere on the neck will bring your deer down every time. There are many hunters who disagree with me on this preference. If your shot lands on the lower part of the neck you are likely to sever the carotid arteries; a shot high on the neck can damage the spinal cord; and a hit to the center of the neck can result in a combination of these fatal effects. If you’re shooting from the side, front, hindquarters, or head-on, the neck is the most effective target, even more so than the traditional “behind the lower shoulder” target.

I don’t recommend attempting full rear shots unless you are trying for a trophy buck that you can’t pass up. Cleaning a deer that’s been shot in the rectum is unpleasant, to say the least. Make wise shooting decisions; a quick, efficient kill is the goal of the advanced deer hunter.

5. Attractants, Calls, and Rattling – While we do not have time to go into a lot of detail, it is an important deer hunting tip to use attractants (like natural food plots, salt licks/mineral blocks, feeders, and flavored blocks), deer calls, and rattling methods. You have to do some prep work beforehand with food attractants. Just like any garden, food plots takes a lot of time and attention. You want the deer to get used to feeding in the area of the food plot weeks or even months prior to hunting season. This is important so you know when and where they will be grazing.

Only try rattling for bucks or using calls during rutting season, as that’s the only time it will usually work. Bucks will mostly be attracted to the rattles and calls because they’re curious if not in rut, but while rutting they’ll rush toward the noise, which is far from an ideal situation. You could run the risk of getting run over by bucks if you rattle, so make sure you are prepared to act quickly if you want to do this. It’ll take a lot of time to get good at this. There’s a bit of a learning curve that comes with accurately recreating the sounds of deer fighting, but if you get it right, it’ll be very advantageous.

No matter how interested in deer hunting you are, anyone with the slightest interest dreams of getting a nice trophy buck; you might also be a deer hunting fiend who wants a trophy rack each year. If you want to learn what it takes to be a master deer hunter, keep these deer hunting tips in mind when your next season comes up.

If you really want to learn what it takes to be a master deer hunter, keep these deer hunting tips in mind when your next hunt comes up.
Oh, I know, I know—–the world is coming to an end. The day outside is abominable—rainy, blustery, cold—and you were all supposed to go fishing; well, take stock of the situation—-all is not lost, if your computer works. There are all kinds of bass fishing games online just for the looking, and you can find almost anything you are looking for that will take away your doldrums and give you hours of fun chasing fish online, almost as good as the “reel” thing.

Let’s start with one that has become one of the most fun of the bass fishing games available online, because it is so doggone realistic; Bass Fishing Pro. You will find it a real challenge to chase the fish, hook them, reel them in faster and faster, because the faster you get and the more you catch, the higher up in the levels you move. But, keep in mind that as you get revved up and go charging after those bass, your boat does not have an unending supply of gas, and if you run out——nanner nanner——you are now rowing the boat. And what does that action do for your fishing skills and speed—-not much now that you are pulling oars. So, in between steering the boat, chasing fish, hooking them, reeling them in and running around stuff; you have to watch the gas too. Remember, you can upgrade your boat as you become more agile, and you can compete in tournaments, which will help move you up the ladder.

This is a good one when it comes to fun bass fishing games. This is called Fishing Champion and it is cartoon based with all kinds of fun things happening all around you. The casting action that you go through is so realistic you will feel like you are actually fishing and then hooking the fish and finally reeling it in. The object is to hook bigger and bigger fish, because the bigger the fish, the more money goes into your pot; and the opportunity exists to get extra cash by hooking bonus fish. What a trip! Along the way are lots of bass fishing tournaments and as you win at each tournament, you move up from level to level to reach the top. Great fun.

Here’s a real action packed game that is a barrel of fun and laughs for the whole family and that is Fishing Frenzy. As the name implies, you are putting your reflexes to the test here and pitting yourself against the merciless clock as you try to catch as many fish as you can before the clock runs out. When it comes to fun bass fishing games, this one can’t be beat because of the fast paced action and the whooping and hollering of the participants. The fun starts for real as the fish pulls the bobber below the water surface and you set your hook, and WHAM—the race is on to get him reeled in. Run with this one a few times, and you will be having the best time you ever thought possible with a game.

As far as bass fishing games go, this one is a real (or should I say “reel” winner). It’s called Reel Fishing and it tends to lean on the simple side of action, but nevertheless is a winner when it comes to fun for the whole family. The idea is to catch as many fish as you can, while you sit in a stationary boat on the water with the fish swimming as shadows below you. You cast at the shadows as they move constantly around your boat in circular patterns and you aim your line at the moving shadows. But, there is a catch here—-watch out for the level of drag pressure you put on your line, because if it becomes too great, SNAP—-and you are done. Good family game and will keep you entertained for hours.

And another fun game from the arsenal of bass fishing games on the internet, is one call Survivor Fishing. As the name would state, it is up to you to survive this game by living off the land and finding something to eat to keep yourself alive. Near you is a river and it is a plentiful source of fish, so in order to have something for supper, you must employ what fishing skills you have and catch something. But, keep a close watch on how tight your line is getting, because if you pull too hard, your pole will break and your chances both of getting something to eat and winning the game have gone by the by. You can play as a character if you want, or not: some people find that more fun—but it is up to you. Either way, the game is an exciting one.

Even if it is pouring cats and dogs outside and any hope you had of fishing the day away is rapidly washing down the drain, you still have the option of turning on your computer and spending the day or night—whatever the case may be—-fishing to your heart’s content online. There are a myriad of bass fishing games to be found online and all you have to do is browse up “bass fishing games” and you can pick and choose to find the ones that will keep you and your family entertained for hours, and not missing being able to go outdoors at all. Playing games online is almost as much fun as the “reel” thing.

There are many kinds of mountainboards out there, and while they all may look exactly alike there are small differences in each one of them that makes them better for certain things. In this article you will learn about the different kinds.

To help you out in understanding the many different kinds, I am going to run through each one and tell you a little about how they are different from others. The general kinds include; freeriding, freestyle, kiteboarding and all around.

A freeride mountainboard is longer and beefier than other boards. It usually will have larger wheels that make it easier and smoother when riding over rough terrain. If you just want to have fun riding down hills, this is a great board.

For riders that want to bust out tricks, slide down rails or ride at a skatepark, a freestyle board will be what they should look for. The focus on these boards is lightness. Aside from being light, these boards also tend to be shorter so spinning can be done more easily.

Perhaps you want to do both freestyle riding and freeriding. A mountainboard that will do well in both areas will be at the middle of the pack. Its length will be average and its weight will be average. There are many mountainboards in that are great for all around riding.

Besides the different sizes and weights of mountainboards there are also other features that can change the experience. This includes the style of foot straps. Foot straps can either be the kind you can step in and out of without un-ratcheting, or they can be snowboard style bindings where your foot is locked in from the start until the end of the ride.

There are lots of mountainboards out there to choose from. If you take a little time to think what kind of riding you want to do, it will make choosing one much easier. Do you want foot straps similar to a snowboard, or do you want to be able to step in and go with simpler foot straps? Are you an all around mountainboarder, a freestyle rider, or a freerider? Whatever your preference, there is a mountainboard out there for you.

Check out the hottest mountainboard pictures on the net and become a part of the number one mountainboard community.

Learning some things about Fantasy Baseball Leagues can be well worth doing. If it interests you at all, you owe it to yourself to learn how it works and get involved. Many people today are enjoying this fun way to enjoy the sport of baseball. You can either form a league, or join one that’s already going. A league consists of ten to twelve baseball teams. The number can rise to as many teams as 24. And the rules may cause you to limit your teams to the American or National leagues.

The first move is to choose yourself a team, and the next move is to start the team building. You have two separate options for building the team. You can choose to use the ‘draft’ system, or you can go by way of ‘auction’. The draft is done by rotation and picking players when your turn comes around. You make the decision at the beginning about whether or not to clean the slate after the season. Or you can opt for ‘protecting’, or keeping back, a certain number of players and carry them over to the next season.

When you take the auction route, you start with 260 credits for bidding. And for deciding the eligibility of a player, you go by the fact of whether he’s played at a certain position for 20 or more games last season. If he hasn’t, then you go with the position that he played the most at. It’s easy to catch on to the different

The scoring in fantasy baseball leagues is a pretty involved process. It’s based upon the statistics of the games. Home runs are counted, along with batting averages, runs batted in, stolen bases, wins, saves, run average, home runs, and finally the ‘WHIP’. The WHIP is a figure that’s derived from taking the Walks and dividing them by the Hits. The scores for all the categories get added up at the end of the season to determine the winner.

The rosters are another thing that stays about the same with all leagues. Nine pitchers and five outfielders. Then only one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, a shorstop, a corner man, a middle infielder, and a player that’s miscellaneous. The miscellaneous player can be used in different ways by the two leagues. In the American League he’s used as a ‘designated hitter’. In the National League he’s a ‘utility man’.

The thing about fantasy baseball leagues is that there are so many different ways to play. There’s no way that’s chiseled in stone, and the many variations would take you a while to learn. But for many people, it’s a past time that they have a real passion for. There are places for playing and making money, if you feel you’re up to that caliber of player.

For newbies you can get draft guides and all kinds of help online. There are publications for sale that can assist you in learning the fine points and strategies to propel you into a competitive state in order to compete with seasoned players.

Fantasy baseball leagues are fun ways to enjoy the sport that so many Americans are so passionate about. There’s a lot to learn, but it doesn’t take long if you understand baseball. While there’s a lot more than you can find out in just this one article, there’s plenty of information to be had online if you search for it. Go ahead, take the plunge. You could be the next big winner!

While NHL hockey players from the country formerly known as Czechoslovakia”as well as other Eastern European nations”are commonplace today, Chicago Blackhawks great Stan Mikita was something of a pioneer. Other players with a flashier game such as Bobby Hull became better known, but you can make a compelling case that Mikita was the best center iceman in professional hockey during the’60s. Mikita was born in Sokolce, in what is now known as Slovakia. He was sent by his family to the Toronto, Ontario area as a young boy to avoid the political strife in the area prior to World War II. An aunt and uncle adopted him, and he changed his name from his birth name of Stanislav Guoth adopting their last name of Mikita. Like most young Canadian boys, he started playing hockey and quickly proved to have an impressive aptitude for the national sport.

Mikita starred for the junior league St. Catherine Teepees as a teenager before making the jump to the NHL joining the Chicago Blackhawks. He quickly became an important part of the Chicago offense in his first and second full seasons as a pro. In’61, he led the team in playoff scoring as they won the Stanley Cup.

The following year was when Mikita really began to make a mark in professional hockey. Centering the dangerous Scooter Line with Ken Wharram on the right wing and Ab McDonald or Doug Mohns on the left wing, he became one of the most feared offensive scorers and playmakers in the league. While he played in the media shadow of Bobby Hull, Mikita was considered by most hockey cognoscenti to be the real offensive catalyst of the team.

Mikitas influence wasnt limited to offensive output”he was a feared defensive player and considered one of the best faceoff men in the game. He also brought about one of the most significant innovations in NHL history, being the first to play with a curved stick blade. This was a very radical modification at the time, but was quickly copied throughout the league to the point where today a player that *doesnt* play with a curved stick is considered something of an anachronism.

Early in his career, Mikita played a tough, rugged style of hockey that made him one of the most penalized players in the game. In the mid’60s, however, he began to play a much cleaner and more sportsmanlike style that would earn him the Lady Byng Trophy for most gentlemanly player twice. The story goes that he had a change of heart when his young daughter asked why he spent so much time sitting in the box on televised games.

In addition to his Stanley Cup victory, Mikitas career accomplishments rank among the most impressive in the history of the sport. He won the Art Ross Trophy as the NHLs leading scorer four times (1964,’65,’67,’68), the Hart Memorial Trophy for Most Valuable Player twice (1967 and’68) and the Lady Byng Trophy in’67 and’68. He remains the only player in NHL history to win the Ross, Hart and Byng trophies in the same season (1967).

Mikita suffered from chronic back ailments later in his career, and finally retired in’80 having played his entire career for the Chicago Blackhawks. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in’83, but became known to a younger generation in a more unusual way. In the movie Waynes World, Wayne and Garth frequently hang out at a donut shop based on the Canadian Tim Hortons chain. The name of the shop is Stan Mikitas Donuts.

Today is a great time to get high quality television equipment that is built to last for a long time, and the prices are currently very low. As the HDTV technology has just started becoming popular, it’s prices would come in the lower range once it becomes old enough to be adopted by all the people across the world.

What are our thoughts on LCD HDTVs? What makes them so special, and what should you look for when buying one?

LCD monitors were introduced few years ago and their matchless picture quality with least possible blurring has made them popular all across the world and the similar technology was adapted in the HDTV format. As compared to projection TVs and the earlier CRT television sets, the LCD TVs are a lot slender in size and weigh considerably less, thus making them perfect for use in smaller sized rooms where larger TV sets could not be accommodated before TVs with LCD or plasma technology were introduced in the market.

The best advantage of having a LCD screen is that one can mount them on the walls by using specific clamps that hold them tight and safe on the wall, helping you save a lot of space. If you have such a great, eye-pleasing monitor you now need to have programming that takes full advantage of the screen’s viewing capability, and that’s where HDTV comes in.

These technologies were intended to work together. HDTV allows television broadcasting to be sent in a signal which is very dense with digital information about the video as well as sound. This is a major advancement, compared to the analog broadcasts that the bulk of television stations have been using for decades.

In fact, the HDTV signal can carry up to ten times as much screen resolution information as an old analog signal. For a complete viewing experience, the combination of rich resolution and a LCD screen that displays the sharpest picture available, this set provides consumers exactly what they are looking for.

When you are purchasing a LCD TV, you need to make sure that it is equipped with a HDTV tuner or that it is “HDTV Ready” so that your cable or satellite can be hooked up to allow you to receive HDTV programming.

Viewing programs with the combined technologies of HDTV and a LCD monitor will make you wonder how you could be without it till now.

One of the newest and top LCD High Definition TV’s to consider is the Samsung UN46B6000. This 46-inch LED flat panel has the sharpest quality picture at the cheapest cost too. You could find out more about the UN46B6000 and how to obtain your great price cut here.

The San Diego Chargers bounced back nicely from their Monday Night Football loss to Denver last week, opening a 20-0 halftime lead before coasting to a 37-7 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Chargers’ quarterback Phillip Rivers passed for 268 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Running back Ladanian Tomlinson ran for a season high 71 yards as San Diego evened their record at 3-3. The hapless Chiefs dropped to 1-6.

The Chargers easily covered the NFL pointspread as -6 road favorites. It was only the second pointspread cover of the year for San Diego, who moved their ATS record to 2-4. Kansas City dropped to 2-5 against the spread.

After the game, QB Rivers suggested that the loss to Denver was a turning point for his team:

“Last week, we felt like we made progress. We had the attitude we were looking for, focus, but we didn’t win. But we knew we got better.”

Tomlinson broke off one of his most impressive runs of the year on the Chargers first touchdown drive, a 31 yard pickup that he said lifted the team’s spirits and led to the easy victory:

“It kind of got us going. It was something we needed and it was a big play for us. It was a staple of our offense. It’s been around for years, old power. It was perfectly blocked and was just a great job of execution.”

The Chiefs continued to struggle on their home field, which at one point was considered one of the toughest venues in the league for visiting teams. Kansas City has now lost ten straight at Arrowhead Stadium, and 29 of their last 32 games. Chiefs’ nose tackle Ron Edwards lamented this home field struggle:

“We want to win for the home fans, for us, for everyone out there watching,” nose tackle Ron Edwards said. “It’s real painful.”

Rivers pointed to the Chiefs’ legacy of home field dominance in celebrating the win:

“Any time you come to Kansas City and win, it’s good. We talked about getting on a roll and you’ve got to win one first before you can. Hopefully, this is something we can build on.”

The Chargers return home to take on their hated rivals, the Oakland Raiders. They’ll travel to play the New York Giants the following week before returning home to face the Philadelphia Eagles on November 15. Kansas City will enjoy a bye week before returning to action on November 8 on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their next opportunity for a home victory will come on November 15 against the Oakland Raiders.

The New York Jets and rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez found a sure fire cure to their recent struggles-a game against the lowly Oakland Raiders. Sanchez passed for–3 yards and a touchdown, plus added a rushing touchdown as New York thumped Oakland 38-0 in the largest regular season shutout win in franchise history. Oakland quarterback JaMarcus Russell continued to struggle, and he passed for just 61 yards with three interceptions before he was benched in favor of Bruce Gradowski. The Jets improved their record to 4-3 while the Raiders dropped to 2-5.

NFL football betting enthusiasts who took the Jets as -6 road favorites had smooth sailing throughout the game for an easy pointspread cover. The Jets improved to 4-3 against the spread while the Raiders fell to 3-5 against the number. The 38 points scored went OVER the posted total of 34. Oakland failed to score a touchdown for the 15th game in the past four seasons.

It was such an effortless game that the only thing that Sanchez had to apologize for was surreptitiously eating a hot dog near the end of the contest:

“I want to apologize for that. I wasn’t feeling very good and didn’t eat much before the game, so I was feeling a little queasy. Toward the end of the game, I probably should have eaten one of those bars or something, but someone offered a hot dog, so I grabbed it and tried to be discreet about it, but obviously not discreet enough. So I shouldn’t have done that, and it won’t happen again.”

The Jets capitalized on three early Raiders’ turnovers and started two of their first three drives inside the five yardline. Sanchez praised the defense for making his job easy:

“It makes it so easy on the offense when your defense is playing like that. Hats off to them, they had a heck of a game to shut that team out. I don’t care who we’re playing, that’s a big-time accomplishment for our team.”

Jets’ coach Rex Ryan was very pleased with Sanchez’s performance:

“Sanchez was great. He was just smart with the football. I think sometimes he could have put the ball on a receiver, but he was making sure the ball wasn’t intercepted. It was great to see him respond.”

Raiders’ defensive lineman Richard Seymour, who boldly predicted the team would make the playoffs despite their slow start, was singing a different tune after the rout:

“I don’t think we could have beaten an Oakland high school team today.”

Despite Russell’s struggles, Oakland coach Tom Cable remains committed to him as the team’s starter:

“I thought he was really out of sorts early in the game. I just did not feel like at that point he gave us the best chance to have the success we needed to have offensively and made the move. JaMarcus will continue to be our starter. There is no issue there.”

The Raiders will try to bounce back this weekend in a big rivalry game on the road against the San Diego Chargers. Oakland is +16′ road underdogs with the total set at 42′. They’ll then enjoy a bye week before back to back home games against the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals. The Jets host Miami this Sunday, with New York a -3′ home favorite and the total set at 40′.
